Default egr, timimg and trans

first off my egr code came on the p401, it has a new egr as it looks on there...do i have to take the intake off to clean it?

aslo does anyone have a link for a how to on a timing belt replacement on a 99 3.0 v6 accord..?

and lastly, i have read a lot of negative things about the tranny's in the accords around this year? i change fluid like i should, mines got 193k on it with original trans. should i be worried at all? what are the normal costs of a rebuild?

thanks

P0401 is for EGR insufficient flow due to clogged ports in the plenum; replacing the valve will not fix it. P1491 is for EGR low lift and indicates a problem with the valve.

Yes. Honda released a service bulletin for EGR flow problems with '98-01 J30A1 engines along with an EGR pipe kit update: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/tsb/accord/A99-085.pdf

There were a lot of issues with the early J-series automatic transmissions, but with 193,000 miles you can expect any automatic transmission to be nearing the end of its useful life - problematic or not. There is nothing practical that you can really do to extend the life of the trans other than regular fluid changes, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

A remanufactured transmission from Honda costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $2200-2700 plus core charge and installation labor.
