Default Gears wont go in! Please give me suggestions

Ok so I have a 1997 acura integra LS and I just put in the swap and when the car is off all the gears go in smooth but when I turn on the car is wont go into gears. I have already switched out the Master cylinder,Slave cylinder ,Clutch and flywheel all to new and before i put in the transmission i tested in on my buddies car so i know there is nothing wrong with the tranny! So any help would be helpful cuz this is driving me nuts!!!!

Sounds like it could be a failing clutch/disc pressure plate. Are you sure the clutch fluid is topped off and the system is bled good?

Does it make any kind of noise when not in gear? Does it make noise when going into gear? Does it make this same noise going into reverse? Is the noise a grinding typing noise? By the noise i mean is it what you would expect if the cluthc wasn't fully engaged and you tried to slip it into gear for example "grinding gears" Or is it a different type of noise that you are unfamiliar with?

there is absolutely no noise when trying to force it into gears but when i try to force it in sounds like it wants to die, and when i put it in gear and then turn it on it doesnt make any noise either but when i try to go to second after that it wont go back into any gear, but as far a grinding there is none

Sounds like a problem I had in my GSR. It was a spring on the disc that was defective.

This is what i wanted to say as well. The same thing happened to me on my GSR hatch except the spring BROKE and made a ton of noise. That's why i didn't say anything since there was no noise.

Mine was in 2 pieces, as well. Exact same symptoms. But I heard no noise.

Yup, my spring was damaged, it was cracked and almost popped out of the disc. It would go into all gears when the car was off, but wouldn't go into 1st or reverse once the car was running. So in order to get home, I had to leave the car off, go into reverse, turn the car on, back up out of the parking lot stall. Turn off the car, go into 1st gear, turn the car on and drive straight home. Once the car was running in 1st, it went through 1st-5th no problem.

Did you properly align the clutch when you installed it?
