shipping a car straight from japan
hey guys so i found a few cars on a web site for pretty cheap in japan and they will ship them over to canada for close to nothing canada is the clostest port to were im at now that being said does any one know how much it would cost to have a car ran through imitions and all that good stuff so i could have it plated here in the states? please if u knw help me out thanx
i needs to go through a registered importer to be street legal (emissions compliant and so on). i don't know what extra steps would need to be taken to have it come in through Canada and then again into the US. i'd bet it would be easier to make the drive to a US importer than to have to do everything twice..

Now I don't know if the pricing and taxing are as much as they were on the Beemer, but it's not gonna be as cheap as you think to ship a japanese Auto over here and get it up to par for stateside use...hence why you do see everyone riding around with Skylines. It's NOT an expensive car to BUY, but you can bet your *** it's expensive to GET HERE.
