i needs to go through a registered importer to be street legal (emissions compliant and so on). i don't know what extra steps would need to be taken to have it come in through Canada and then again into the US. i'd bet it would be easier to make the drive to a US importer than to have to do everything twice..

I'd say don't bother. By the time you pay for Shipping and the getting it Legal for the states you'd pay as much as you would have buying it here. Example: I wanted a BMW 750 in a MANUAL, now they told me at the dealership that they don't special order cars like that to the states, but they do to Europe. I PURCHASED the car in Europe, back then I say It wound up paying probably 5K close to 10 less then what it stickers for here, but when it came time to SHIP IT, ect, ect..My margin had dwindled..

Now I don't know if the pricing and taxing are as much as they were on the Beemer, but it's not gonna be as cheap as you think to ship a japanese Auto over here and get it up to par for stateside use...hence why you do see everyone riding around with Skylines. It's NOT an expensive car to BUY, but you can bet your *** it's expensive to GET HERE.
