Default Timing belt questions

Im getting ready to replace my timing belt on my 90 crx dx. 1.5 liter. I have belt, tensioner, water pump, crank and cam seals. Do i have to remove the valve cover for this job? Does the water pump o ring go on dry? Do you use locktight on the crank bolt? Will it cause a problem if i leave the upper timing belt cover off? Thanks

Default Re: Timing belt questions

Check the manual for valve cover removal.

Water pump o-ring goes on dry.

I didn't use locktight on the crank bolt, but to get mine off, I had to use an extension and a sledge hammer...

The first two pics are tools that broke, or didn't work

Yes it will cause a problem if you leave the upper cover off. Dust and grime and crap will get in there from your other belts.
