Icon3 integra oil check

i checked my oil recently and its pretty high to the two dots.

was wondering what happens if your oil is over the two dots or low the two dots.

any major internal damage could happen if its low and your driving?* j.w. ne info is grateful.
*was wondering because my friend had low oil and we were cruising one day and his internals were f*cked after said the crank and bearings were blown..

Your friend is an idiot. If your oil is low, add more and figure out why its low. If you have to much its not as big of a deal depending on how much it will burn off, leak out etc. You should still take the 5 minutes to let out some though because to much can lead to engine failure after it sludges/froths up.

yeah.. ALWAYS keep your oil where its supposed to be.. the engine internals ride on a pressurized stream of oil.. no oil = metal to metal contact = ****ed up internals

Hi there,

If your oil is slightly over the two dots, don't worry too much. When I put in the recommended 4 quarts with filter, it goes about 1cm above the full mark even after I run the engine and the filter is full of oil. Only start to worry if you're overfilled by a quart or more, because then you could cause aeration from the crankshaft coming into contact with the oil or cause issues your PCV system or other potential problems. If it goes below the two marks, you'll increase engine wear and if the oil pressure gets low enough, you could seize the engine fairly quickly.
