Default Rear power windows in hatch?

I was wondering if you could take the window actuators off a chrysler minivan or something of the sort and fabricate them to work in an EF hatch. I thought of this the other day at the junkyard and figured Id share the idea on honda-tech. Maybe someone out there has done it already. Input anyone?

its seems possible. all they are gonna do is open up. kind of like my power folding mirrors. should work the same.

hmm. for some reason i invisioned him wanting to make the rear windows roll down into the body of the car like the front windows lol. if you're just talking about the power pop out motor muhjiggers, then yea that sounds much more realistic lol.

i've been toying around with the idea of installing these as well. i probably will fab up something to make it work, since i'm going to work on swapping sedan power windows into the front of my car, might as well make the other two switches useful.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do this...It would just be a matter of figuring out how to mount the motor and body to the body of the car and then hooking it to the window. The hardest part would probably be the wiring, but even that shouldn't be too hard , just wires and a switch on the dash or something...

I'm interested though so keep us updated!!!

i also have been thinking about this for a while now as well. but i wanted them to roll down. it really wouldnt be as hard as it seems. just the part with drilling into the glass would be the hard part

I think the only issue would be mounting the actuator and making sure that the actuator doesn't over extend and break the hinges that hold the window.

i think the hardest part would be mounting the motor and/or regulator/actuator into a solid metal bracket(custom welding) or something of that sort to hold them AND making sure the clearance is good for the rear panels if not modding those as well...keep us updated
noob question
can i get parts(motor and regulator) from a EF sedan(LX) to do a power window swap in my ef doors OR does it have to be the actual ones made for EF9s in japan that sell on ebay for like 300bucks?

The problem is not getting them to open up. It's getting them to pull closed and stay closed enough to make a seal.

Most quarter windows that do this have a inherent "spring-back" deal, whether it's how the window is installed or something else.

My girlfriends BMW 328ci has this feature. Its a coupe and the back windows actually push out sideways with little actuators, its pretty badass! Looking at it from the outside you would never think that they could do that. Im determined to make this happen in my EF. I will you guys updated!
