What's an ekR? Remember, '96 was the "mixed tire size year"; Civic DX and hatchback models had smaller tires than other Civic models.

Answer several questions first, as they affect what tires are available and what size might be best. Do you want these tires primarily for street use with an occasional track event, or are they strictly for track use only? (If they're for street use, will you be using them in snow and winter conditions, or only warm weather?) How much experience do you have, for example a lot of track experience so you want R compound track tires, or are you a newbie and not ready for R comps? How important is value to you; IOW are you willing to pay more (or get tires with a shorter treadlife) in exchange for better-gripping tires?

Answer those questions first...

Just for general sanity, can you please stop saying "er'body" and "er'thing"? Just type the extra 3 letters and show us that you can spell. I for one will be more inclined to help you, and I know others feel the same way.

I'm not kidding.

Then that makes the answer to your original question very easy. Unless you're considering the Toyo R888, no other R compound track tire comes in 195/50-15 (or 195/55-15), AFAIK. And on the track, the downsides of oversized tires - gauge inaccuracy, slower acceleration - are not very important, unlike the cornering advantage of wider tires. So go ahead and look at 205/50-15 for track use. There are lots of R comps available in that size. (I'd stick with 195/50-15 for your street tires though.)
