help on brake light on cluster
so as i drove home last night from work i notice my brake light on my cluster was still on wen i noticed it i thought i still had my e-brake on so i checked and my e-brake was down but the brake light was still on so does it mean my brake fluids are low? or is it electrical issue? it would stay on for a while than goes away and wen i make a hard right turn it would light up again than go away my car is a 96 integra ls
well.. there is one reaaaaallly good way to check that.. just check your fluid.. especially if you turn and it goes on/off...
top off your fluid.. lol.. see if that works..

Do a search and you will find a TSB for this issue on some integras and you will find a lot of people telling you to top off your brake fluid as well as remove the filter in the reservoir.
my brake light comes on because i have pads that are worn unevenly--about a quarter inch or so something serious.
i had a seized caliper that caused the pad wear. since the caliper moves again, the light comes and goes.
i'll check my fluid this weekend, but i checked it in july and it was OK then.

If you have an integra, there is no way you are getting a brake light because your pads are wearing unevenly. There isn't even a sensor that could register such wear on the braking system of an integra. Most of the time a brake light is due to the parking brake being left up just a tad, or the fluid level being a little low.

well, the car was pulling to the right for a while. then i took the front knuckles all apart for new wheel bearings over the summer. i had the calipers off, and clamped them open to reinstall. no more pulling to the right, but the brake light comes on since. checked the fluid that week, level was good. issue continues to this day.
as usual, thanks for the tips. i will check the fluid and sensor later--i spent all morning before work shoveling snow. the sensor should be easy to get to--it seems my lower consoles are always in the house instead of in the cars : )
