Default HID's - eg/eh

So basically I want to upgrade my headlights as the stock ones arent good for ****! What would be the best headlights to go w/HID's, the stock EH ones (id like to use these), JDM EG, or projectors (last option).?

Also any pics will help, im looking at 4300K kit, something crisp and not too purple..

stock EH headlights are ****..throw them away..

EG headlights are amazingly different, as far as light quality.. BUT.. there arent any HID bulbs made for them, you'd have to do a custom retrofit job and beam pattern correction..it can be done and its not very difficult.

Projectors: my favorite.. i would get the black housing ones, get a nice 4300K H3 HID kit, take my car to a dark road, with a screw driver, and adjust them til you have the desired beam pattern.. HID + projectors would be ideal..and if you get the projectors, id look into the additional wiring harness that allows the low beams to stay on with the high beams. good luck.

argh I hate projectors - do you think you could explain the modification needed to modify the HID's w/the EG6 lights.

um.. put an HID bulb next to the EG6 stock bulb.. all you gotta do is match up where the mounting point is, and where the filament is.. so that when you put the HID bulb in, the little bubble inside the HID bulb, is sitting in the exact same spot as the little spring in the halogen bulb would be.

notice the mounting collar on the 9006 is lined up exactly with the mounting collar on the HID bulb, and also the filament (little spring) inside the halogen bulb is lined up with that bubble inside the HID bulb.......

Yes do tell I would love to have HID in my 92, but I have EG6 headlights. I have never seen a HID kit for an H4H bulb.

those are the stock wack EH headlights.. if i get a chance i will take a pic of his ground lighting.. i would never use those headlights for anything if i had a civic.. i would do the projector + HID combo.. thats the best for light quality.. but id spend the extra money and find a set of OEM HID projectors somewhere and do the projector swap as well.. nothin beats OEM HID..

yeah.. the middle bulb is a 9006, and the bulb on the right is an HID bulb retrofitted for a 9006 housing, the bulb on the left is an HID bulb made for an HID housing, so its showing the difference, and its showing why you get a poor focal point when you think you can just throw some HID bulb in a car without beam pattern correction.. so the bulb on the right has matched the bisection point and the mounting collar with the 9006 halogen bulb so they will have the same focal point, but the HID bulb will be a hell of a lot brighter..

edit:
when you just pick up a set of HID bulbs off some TL or BMW or something, and just throw them in any way you can..they usually have a weak focal point, here are the differences..

Here is the way a bulb is suposed to look.. this is the stock halogen bulb

here is the way a properly done HID kit should look.. notice it matches the halogen beam exactly, but its just a more pure white color..

and here is what budget HID kits look like. (example: "i got my HID's off a wrecked BMW and just threw them in, they look awesome") if someone says that they might be right..it might look cool, but guaranteed their halogens put more light on the ground.. this is why......

no focus..
