rusted hood
so i've seen tons of people doing the rusted hood thing, but what happens when it rains? does the rust drip and spread onto the fenders/bumpers/and everything else? does everything else get infected?
Besides looking like a dick driving around with that bullshit I'd imagine it would just rinse off in the rain. Only thing I might worry about is if it's left on there it might stain the paint on the bumper or fenders, but I don't know
lol my hoods been dried up from the sun and faded and oxidizing for the longest time. its my beater so i don't want to spend the money to get it repainted oem color. what could i do with the hood besides painting it flat black or rusting it?

I have an old damaged hood that Ive had rusted out for about 3.5 years.
The rust has never run or dripped down onto the paint during rain or snow, so you have nothing to worry about.

It's not like everyone actually swaps to carbon fiber hoods for the weight savings, anyway. I like the way carbon fiber looks myself, and similar to a rusted hood, people rock them because they look good in their opinion. No need to clutter a thread dedicated to rusted hoods and people who dig them with irrelevant information about how you think it's dumb, looks ugly, played-out.
People do what they do because they like it, no need to hate.
Now if the car is completely gutted, with lexan windows, and extreme measures have been taken to remove every last pound, then you can convince me that a CF hood has a purpose.
But lets be honest here, for 90% of the people on here rocking CF hoods, its merely a fashion statement. No different than someone who's rocking a rusted hood.
Well, I guess there is a difference of about $400-$500. lol
