Default my little y-49 build/resto

whats up honda-tech! my names chris and i live in south jersey and i just picked up a 1989 crx si with the loved but cursed y-49 barbados yellow color code about 2 months ago.iv'e been after the car for a few months now and it was in some what good shape then, but someone screwed it up along the way. the car came with a gross flat black paint job, a ugly 90-91 front bumper, and a poorly mantained b18a1.the car has definatly seen better days.the car needs many things like, starter, injector o-rings,cam seal,non-trashed fenders. the car is in bad shape but to me the car is a good platform that i can build on and make everything how i want it to be.i had a few weeks to think about what i am going to do to the car, and the first thing that crossed my mind was a ef8 sir frontend,so i bought one and installed it the next day got it.

as you can see the car needs fenders badly in which i am in the process of getting in the next few days.

i am going to help one of my buddies out that want to go b-series and trade him my full b-series swap for a d16z6 swap, i want tha car to be dumpstars material and you cant realy be "Dumped" with a b-series in a ef so its a better choice for me.

the interior is some what ok but the driver's seat is trashed as well was the carpet. so i trashed the moldy carper and striped the interior,to clean the panels.(sorry for the mess)

but today i started the teardow process to remove the motor by the end of the week and repaint the engine bay to install the fully wire tucked z6.

i pulled of the obd0 harness to convert it to obd1 and to tuck it.i'm also going to have to redo all of there half assed light harness tuck. it's all twist tied nothing soldered together.

there's one problem in the engine bay that is relly bothering me and its a hole that one of the owners made for a cold air intake.i might buy a sheet of carbon an make a cover for that hole.

for the next few weeks the front end will be in my room.

the build will be updated almost daily so stay tuned for this build,i hope you guys like it.

oh and by the way this will be that last time this bumper will be on this car!
usdm SI-R!!!!lol

not sure why you would want to go D over B, but more power to ya. hope you do it justice.

Hey looks like you got yourself a nice time consuming canvas to work with.

It's good to see someone go back to a D series, certainly a change in the wind .

Keep up the progress bro!!

I got a EF8 front end, power windows, and folding mirrors on my Multicolored CRX beater.

So, much love for the rebuild.

I think it's the fact that all the ricers in the late 90's loved this car and put crazy Xtreme dimensions body kit on these. This car would be the definition of a ricers dream.

what color are you going to paint the car? Go with the original y-49!
