Good replacement shocks.
The stock suspension is starting to make noise when hitting bumps. Like a creaking noise.
Figure I might upgrade. I daliy drive my 97 GSr sedan. Im not into racing. Need a smooth comfortable ride. As far as springs, I will be getting the H7R OE sport springs, which are like 0.7 inches lower than stock, a LITTLE more stiff, for better handling. Thats perfect for me.
So I was thinking of geting shocks which will be smooth and comfy but offer better performance than stock. Illuminas and yellows are expensive, and I really dont see the need for them. Tokico blues are stiff, I know from previous cars.
i was thinking like KYB oem replacement shocks...
any suggestions?

I'm not sure the creaking noise is due to the shocks.
I've been very happy with the yellow Bilsteins. They provide a nice ride quality on the street (like stockers) but they tighten up nicely when you're carving corners.
Whatever shocks you get, save your receipts. Most aftermarket performance shocks come with a lifetime warranty to the original purchaser.

I had a friend who's shocks squeaked cuz when they lowered his car they used the stock shocks and they went out.
If you can squeeze it in to the budget I would try and replace your suspensions bushings while your in there very few people ever replace them.

Depending on how low you plan on going, the GR-2s may be a bad idea as they are an OEM replacement. I had these on my Integra and when it was dumped it rode like a dream for about a month or 2 then after that it was bouncy as hell. I would go with an adjustable shock like KYB AGXs. They will probably last longer.

Oh yea, and alot of struts will squeak if they have been used in one position for a while and the height is changed. I don't know why but alot of struts seem to have a memory.
Koni str.t shocks. They can handle a drop and have a lifetime warranty. I'm liking them on my car so far. They are smoother than my eibach shocks I had on my car before. Never had stock shocks on my car but they are about as smooth as stock s2000 shocks for comparison.

Seems like KYB GR2 are the way to go. 200 bux for all four. And at the same time ill get the Hr springs. Heres another question, any other parts I should change out at the same time? Like bushings? Mounts? Anything else?
well, you may want to check your mounts for cracks or anything like that..
maybe replace any bushings that look damaged, for sure..
really, unless you see something that is damaged, then you should be good just popping those in..

with the amount of effort it takes to put all new bushings in, depending on the amount of miles on the car, and how worn your current suspension is....that kit is prolly the best deal on the internet. Those are all moog parts too.
