99 ek brakes?
So i just picked up this 99 Ex coupe and the guy told me he had new pads put on by a "mechanic". He wasnt lying they are brand new pads but they seem to be a bit small. There is so much gap in between where the pads sit into the clips that it has managed to pop the outter pad out of the clip and is just resting on the rotor. I took it off and put it back in but am not trusting it, way to much clearance.
Is there a difference between pad size on an Ex compared to other model eks.... Im wondering if it has the wrong pads on it. Has anyone else ever had this problem or heard of this happening?
Something just isnt right here..
Thanks

without pics, it's difficult to diagnose your post...
to answer your question: YES, there is definately a difference in pad size on your 99 civic EX coupe and other model 99-00 civic EKs.
i get the feeling that there's a possibility that the previous owner installed DX pads (which ae meant for 9.4" front rotors) on your EX calipers.
your EX front calipers use bigger pads (interchangeable with 90-01 integra, 99-00 si, 90-00 ex & del sol vtec b16) on 10.3" front rotors. your best bet is to get the pads specific for your application and compare them to what is in your car already.
