b20 vtec into a 95 gsr???
looking at buying a b20 vtec motor with a gsr head to drop into my 95 gsr. my question is would it be a direct swap? its a long block so i would swap all the accessories but i figure it nothing would need modifying.
oh, and the guy wants 900 for it. sounds like a decent price to me. what do you guys think?

i live in texas so i'm worrying about inspection. the guy wants to do a k20 swap so his selling the motor and a bunch of other bseries stuff. i really just need a motor to swap out my broke gsr motor. 900 is bad for a replacement huh?
Were I live there is no inspection so I don't know a whole lot about them try calling the place were the inspections are and ask if the swap is legal if not don't bother other wise it sounds like a good deal.

what do u mean "save myself the headache." I thought it will drop right in? Mind you that this is just going to be a daily driver. nothing that going to be ran hard.
it will start and run "run like ****" but think about it. a b20vtec is a 2.0 setup while the p72 is only meant for a 1.8 motor. trust me i've been there and done that, its not good for your motor. i highly recommened you not to do so unless you have no other options and you're willing to do it
yes you can, but it wont run optimal until you get it tuned..
i have been in a few hatchs with b20vtecs.. they are hella quick.. i love the torque of them...
and there is a reason to build an LS or B20vtec as opposed to buying another motor..
lets say you have a good LS motor.. you get a GSR head for 200 bucks from a buddy, cams and all...
a few extra parts later, and you have a motor with a vtec head cheaper than buying a GSR motor..
i had a buddy that managed to put together an LSvtec for 400 bucks, because he found alot of parts from craigslist for dirt cheap, and he had some stuff...
my point it, sometimes its cheaper to build a b20vtec or lsvtec, than buy a gsr motor, as they are expensive..
personally, i was thinking of being cheap guy, and dropping b16 in the DA.. lol.. to each his own

we've ran alot of different ecu's with b20 vtec, running the b16 ecu was shitty, we've ran an ls ecu chipped no rev with external vtec and that worked great. So far with our experience using the 1.8L ecu on the 2.0L motor was ok
