92 prelude rod knock ?!?!?!? Help
OK New to posting, so bear with me. I have a 92 prelude, swaped the h23 for a h22a4 (h23 had a rod knock). I bought the h22a4 in pieces, thought building it would be fun. So I put the motor togther put it in the car, took my time, didnt rush, Fired up on 1st key turn. This motor runs really well, perfect idle, doesnt hesitate. Problem is a knock some where in block or head. Now it does go away after 3200 rpm, and sometimes at idle, but always comes back.
This is what i have done. H22a4 engine, h23 manual transmission, h23 wireharness, (added vtec wires) h22a jdm intake and injectors, jdm p13-n01 ecu, h23 timing pulleys and all acc. any help would be really nice. Thanks steve

If you were meticulous with your torque wrench while assembling, maybe you got a bad timing belt bearing? Or another bearing on the engine is on its way out? Rod knock tends to get louder as rpms increase. Bad bearings sound a lot like knocking when they get really bad, and noises are impossible to locate without a stethoscope.
Get a cheap stethoscope and narrow things down better. It could be an actual knock, or something much easier to fix.
Don't forget about a valve adjustment also if you haven't done so already. :D

It's not a rod knock and your description is too vague, I doubt anyone here could diagnose by reading. Either post up a video of the car or drive to a mechanic and have them listen to it.
