You can't make a CTR out of a b16a.

OP, that's fine do what you want.

What do you do with the car how much are you willing to spend and what laws do you need to meet?

My old CRX:
B16A
Block .25 over CTR pistons, new pumps, belts, ect.
Tranny S1 (si short gears), 9lb flywheel, exedy clutch
Head: Street PnP By: CCCylinder heads, SuperTech Valve Train, Blox A cams
DC Header (Vteckidd/knock off header in the futare)KN intake, Rywire OBD1 harness

Shure there is more, but thats the basics. The car is a Blast to drive. Great for AutoX and an awsome daily driver. Can't get any simpler than that.

It all depends on what you want to do with it. Do some reserch, it will go a long way.

buy a b18 bottom end, reuse your b16 pistons in said bottom end, and then bolt your head to it.

Be sure to research what other parts such as rod bolts, water pump, headgasket, etc. to use... Clearly you've done little to no research whatsoever.

I meant running poormans b16b/CTR pistons, I.M., camshafts, dual ex. valvesprings, header, T body, etc....
in a b16 case. Sorry

I don't agree with much of that to be honest...

CTR pistons have poor flame front travel, that has been well proven.

Additionally, CTR cams are rather weak for what you usually end up paying for them, a set of actual aftermarket cams would do hm much better with an increase in compression.

Well if money is no object then ship it to Skunk2 and let Dr. Charles bulid it.

I was recommending a nice budget minded set up. But whatever.

better yet, Omnimann had a DVD of how to build a 200hp B16. Also check the All Motor fourm.
There is a thread about B16's there.

For the same budget you suggested he could leave the bottom end alone completely and make good power on the stock intake manifold.

CTR pistons + rings + type-r intake manifold + cost of block rebuild (gaskets etc.) = more than the cost of a good set of used cams and a milled head

Where did you get the idea I said he had to spend crazy money???

All the power is in the headwork on a B16. there is only so much you can do to the
bottom before you are replacing the whole thing. Cams, valvetrain, and intake and
exhaust and a GOOD tune, and it will be a fun car.

Sooooo much bad advice.

1. Neither the CTR or ITR pistons are a good choice. The stock head os more than capable of decent power.

2. A 70 mm throttle body is wayyyyy overkill. Get a OBD1 B16 throttle body and send it over to maxbore.com, they can bore it out to 64 mm for $100.

3. A S2 pro series cam and valvetrain package would be good. However, the Pro3 cams would cause huge drivability issues with a mild, street driven B16. Pro1 cams would be a better choice.

4. That intake is garbage for making power. Get a 3" CAI.

5. An Aftermarket fuel rail is a waste of money, the FPR is a good idea.

Its best to keep it simple with B16's like other have said.

My personal setup.

.25over PCTs
BC3+
Valvejob
Ported p30 intake
Edelbrock header w/ 2.5 collector
2.5 exhaust w/ cat
Everything else is stock b16.
tune by D-rob on BRE
Made 167/116 @Mcnews 2.5 years ago without the ported intake.
185/136

Ctr's aren't that bad in a b16. Its hard to get compression without some dome or shaving the head a lot with a 77mm stroke. You can save some money though by just shaving the head 0.040" and putting it on a stock block.
