The fuel pump in my '97 Integra LS may be dying. If it does fail, would it be worthwhile replacing it with a higher flow OEM or aftermarket fuel pump? As far as mods, I don't expect to go beyond I/H/E, and possibly cams. I can probably pick up a used GSR or ITR fuel pump for less money than aftermarket. Will a higher flow fuel pump require other upgrades, such as a fuel pressure regulator?

i think someone was selling an ITR fuel pump in the classifieds cheap ... that would be perfect .. no the high flow pump will not require other upgrades ... and its easy to do yourself ...

if you ever plan to go beyond I/H/E +maybe cams like upgrading the entire fuel system .. fuel management .. and air/fuel gauge and adding stuff like nitrous or turbo or sc ... go ahead and gett the new brand name .. like a holley 255lph or i think people like to go with the walbro ? i guess its cheap i dunno .. but same flor rate i think 255 lph

 

What makes you think your fuel pump is dying? What are the symptoms?

 

It's been making a sort of high-pitched whining sound for about a week.
