Icon3 New to the CRX game!

been in love with DA's all my life.
My 90 DA

...but im not hear to talk about my DA, im hear to introduce my 90 CRX

picked it up for dirt cheap, lets just say the price for towing it home cost alot more than the car.
no bumpers, lights, gauge cluster, and driver side fender.
came with a Y49 door. (which is for sale or trade for a red door)

I'm usually on the DA forums and HT but starting 2010 i want to get involved with the lil CRX. any great forums you guys can recommend?

Thanks.

heres my GSR, a buddy and i fully restored the engine with alot of oem and aftermarket goodies. it currently has a lil over 4k miles on it. soo im no noob when it comes to wrenchin.

engine wise..im gonna keep my options open. depending on how my money turns out in 2010..but for now since its gonna be sitting in my drive way for the rest of its life. i gotta make it look clean. scoutin craigslist, huntin down junk yards, and restoring the car with good quality parts

dude, it was a come up..only cost 80 bucks!, 1990, Clean title and came with interior panels and DC ls seats. which i sold to a friend for 40 bucks.

i just want to make the body complete. bumpers. lights. dash, but nothing under it. and 1 sick *** driver seat..

engine wise...i dont wanna make any promises. but ive always wanted to go K but lets see how my budget turns out in 2010. if im ballin than K it is. if i bail on the project than D series and selling the whole car.. if i get state ref in the DA, ill go B series LOL.

One recommendation......
Don't get a gauge cluster until you decide on an engine.
Reason being:
The regular CRX gauge cluster is a cable style VSS. Depending on the engine you choose, you may have to swap VSS's to make the cluster work. That's my $.02. Have fun though. I'm runnin a B18C1 GS-R in mine.

wow, that almost slipped my mind. ive been on the forums thinking about going DC2.

so basically is it. what ever tranny you have, you gotta have the VSS for the model of the cluster?

As far as I know, that's how it goes. You can make the newer electronic style VSS work w/your old cluster. You just have to either replace the electronic VSS w/a cable style or run the electronic VSS to the ecu. But you have to get the signal to your gauges and I know you can do it, but I'm not sure how. hahaha DC2 would be pretty sweet. I'm not sure on the fittment in you cluster opening though. I just wanted to make sure you kept that in mind. I think I'm gonna get a UKDM CRX cluster for mine. Goes to 9k and 150mph. Cable style too.

Picked up SI panels..i dont know y, but i just had too.

No more yellow door.
Before.

After.

Thank you Pick n Pull. i found that door, gauge cluster cover, Center vent, and the lower fuse box cover for under a hundred bucks.

Still on the hunt for: fender, bumpers and lights...
