Default Need whole Exhaust or just a gasket???

hey guys i know everybody hates egay but i purchased some cheap headers i think made by "option" i dunno but i put them on my em1 and the down pipe where it flanges the rest of the stock axle back wont bolt up correctly right where the two spring bolts hook up. so what should i need to do buy a new axle back so its all aftermarket or is it as simple as the gasket they supplied me is to big? it can go together correctly but i have tons of ex. leak and the springs look whey to tight to be a good thing. anybody who can help me out i appreciate it i need to know asap cuz its my DD and its loud as FUC* with just open headers lol

Not everyone hates ebay but you get what you pay for, always keep that in mind.. Relax he was just trying to help, it is a pretty stupid question and it should be obvious to you what you need to have done to make it work. You should have an after market cat-back exhaust system anyways, what is the point of a header with a stock exhaust system? Thats totally pointless. You should have an adequate intake system to go along as well. And then a tune so the car can react and respond to the increased air flow.

Its hard to follow and try to comprehend what your saying but if I get this right I believe your making this thread over the fact that your gasket is not the same size!? If the bolt holes on the gasket match but the actual exhaust hole is bigger than its fine lol, if its smaller than make it bigger, or make your own gasket. But really who cares your running a stock exhaust anyways your gaining absolutely nothing out of that header.

I know he is just tryin to help i appreciate anything anyone says. Its just i was stunned a little when they said no modifications will be needed but thats bullshit you gotta get an axle back just to hook it up correctly and you guys said the header is pointless with stock axle back thats cool and all cuz i only purchased the cheap header cuz my stock header had a crack in it i even had to extend the o2 sensor just to clip in to the socket. But if my headers say 2 inch i would obviously need a 2 inch axle back but should i be able to get any brand will they bolt up with my cheap header as long as its 2 inch? thanks guys

Flow chart

Header --> Catalytic Converter --> Mid Pipe --> S Bend Pipe --> Axle Back (Muffler)

good look on the flow chart cuz the header i recently bought has a downpipe i guess you would call it where the second o2 sensor is at and it has a two spring bolt flange there where you think would be a cat but it connects to the mid pipe for the rest of the way back how would i go about getting a cat in there? im confused the car is a 96 dx stock

Sounds like you bought the wrong header... I have had several eBay headers with great success & ease of installation.

GL figuring it out.
