just bought a 89 lude with 150k and car is in great shape. this is kids first car. ac makes noise about ten min after running. if i increase rpms to 1k noise stops. after closer inspec i think the noise is coming from alt. anybody seen are had this problem.

 

if its a squeaking noise, tighten the belts.

 

not sqeak more if a clicking noise.

 

are you sure its your alt? could it be your power steering pump? maybe you dont have enough fluid.... Im just trying to think of other things that could go wrong, if you do hear a ticking noise something might be hitting the belt or its going bad. if you need a new AC compressor i have one for sale that works fine.

yeah checked that. it wierd beacuse clicking doesnt start until rpms drop below 1k.
