Default starting problems Help please

Help please my car will not start. At first it would click once nothing keep doing it 4-5th time it would start. It would work for a couple days then same crap again. Now it will not start at all no click nothing. Thinking it was the starter i replaced it nope not it so I put the old one back on ( of course I tested it before putting back on). Not the battery test that first. What would cause this.

Blown fuses, bad ground (rusty or corroded), or corroded battery terminals maybe

The starter motor may be bad. Does it crank if you wire power directly to the starter solenoid?

Safety starter switch on clutch pedal?

G3 ground wire between the engine and transmission?

Ignition switch (as mentioned)?

Do you have a multimeter or test light? This would quickly pinpoint the problem. For example, do both starter wires get battery voltage?

The large gauge wire is the one that is hot all the time and the other is the signal from the ignition switch. If u hook up ur test light to the smaller gauge wire it should light up when u turn the ignition switch to the start position. As for the clutch safety switch plugs, there is no easy way, if u have small hands and a flexible arm, just reach up in there and unplug them. U'll get scratched and scraped most likely.

Correct. Follow these instructions. Touch one probe of the test light to a starter wire terminal and the other probe to the negative battery terminal or a metallic area of the body frame. If the small wire solenoid terminal does not get battery voltage, then check or jump the clutch safety switch. If the switch is fine, then next focus on the ignition switch.
