Hey, Im new to Honda's and i got a d15b2(non-vtec) in my 89 hatch, I was thinkin about turbo'ing it, so what turbo would be recommended I use? and Im not sure about buying the ebay turbo kits...any info would help thx
you are going to want to do alot of searching researching. firstly, is your car mpfi? you're going to want to convert to mpfi and obd1 for best results (imo) with a turbo'd d15b2
hey ure better off going to d series.org..
these people here on honda-tech are ********!!!
i asked the same recently about doing turbo on my single cam im also new to honda and all they did was make fun of me......

Well I don't think the ebay turbo is THAT bad. The only thing I don't like about it is the piping, and this to if you do turbo your D15B2 your not goin to get BIG numbers. If I had a turbo on mine I would be happy with 140HP-150HP. Yeah this whated to thorw that in.

This website has been up for almost 10 years, there's a heap of information available if you'd bothered to look. If you hadn't bothered to look, why should we bother answering your stupid questions?

At least do that and stick a VTEC head on. The B2 was 8 valve, I think. Forced induction likes to breathe...
true, you COULD do that.. however, then if the o/p did that and had a problem, he'd come on here asking about it and most people would be like uhhhhhhhhhhh wtfbbq? i suggested the mpfi because obviously the O/P is looking for more power and the MPFI would deff. help. plus that is affordable compared to a dizzy.

I have seen a few Dual point turbo cars. They dont put down much power and have fuel starvation problems.
The cheap solution is a Si head, mpfi wiring, si ecu and then turbo it!

You kids complaining about HT being a shithole are the same ones who make 80 threads asking a question that has been answered before, if not by searching by the FAQ you could find that.
try to avoid ebay turbo kits but some work well dont get me wrong..
you will want to make sure your stock engine is able to be boosted
if you order a ebay turbo kit you will more than likely need some extra piping/couplers and bolts ... look in the market place for a used kit and try from there
how old is your motor
what hp you looking for
how much you willing to spent
is there a tuner by were you live
if you want to learn about making a turbo from many parts found in the junk yard go here and read

installing a turbo is pretty the only problem is getting it tunned "properly" there are many tricks bigger injectors piggy backs fmu just do research before you buy a kit ebay turbo kits are ok but the build on them are not that great (welds, manifold cracks, might need to custom make some stuff) there cheep if you know how to cut and weld. other kits like drag and hasport are great since they are plug and play but will run you some money do reasearch b4 head to the forced induction forum
p/s to the noob saying h-t is full of ******** gtfo no one wants you here if all you are going to do is cry and wine then ask questions before you search go install more sidemarkes on your cars and towhooks (probally going to start a thread about it )

To the OP, I recommend Dseries.org. Most of the write ups there are in house hosted, and not from 5 years ago. Plus the people there actually legitimately like hondas, they're not just there for the status or status quot.
It doesn't matter either way. If he searches a thread and has a question no one else posted then he gets flamed for necroing. If he makes a new thread he gets flamed for not searching.

a question for you is are you a dseries.org promoter
Plus that place is like the mecca of backyard built, low budget turbo honda builds. Which is also what this thread is about.
there is a really good diy thread under forced induction

I love how all the people that **** on H-T and say everyone are ******** are 07-09 users... I noticed the biggest influx of lazy, "spoon feed me" retards in 07. Coincidence? I think not.
With how poorly a dpfi manifold flows you'll want MPFI, FJ distributors makes aftermarket d15 rods that will take all the power you'd ever want. d15's are no longer "throw away" motors
