Default sucking noise from intake filter.

ok, i bought a new blox intake manifold and the dude said it was for his b16a2 (em1). so i install it on my car using my ls throttle body cause thats all i have for now. ( well i have a b16a2 tb but i dont know how to wire up the map sensor)

now that the blox mani with the ls tb is installed in my car. its successfully started up and idles fine. but this there loud sucking noise from my filter..

i took my intake off and theres that hold inside the tb near the b.valve, i put my finger over it and it stocks but the car wants to die. what does that mean?? not a matching tb? tb gasket?

my old manifold (stock) had the ftiv or something like that, that the blox doesnt..

the sucking noise is anoyying and i was wondering how can i get rid of that.

if a matching b16a2 tb would do the job, how do i go about wiring the map sensor if the EF map has like 2 plugs on that bracket thing mounted on the firewall.

Lol for real!

Oh and your B16 tb is plug and play. No need to wire up map or anything like that and its pointless to change cause they are all pretty much the same minus the ITR tb.

hey i was trying to be helpful... can you post a video? i think you'll find that what you're hearing is normal... i hear lots of integra's (i work at walmart in the parking lot, they drive by me ALL the time looking for parking spots) and civics with engine bays that make a noise from the intake that i think you're talking about

edit:

does it sound like this (the idling noise not the reving):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK70SBXP-6U

i always thought that's how intakes are SUPPOSED to sound, i wish mine made that noise...

With an aftermarket intake its goin to hiss, especially with an aftermarket intake manifold. The more air is being sucked in the more sound is going to be made.

If the hissing is coming from the filter, i wouldn't worry about it. If it's coming from a join (between the IM and TB or TB to filter piping) then you'd need to fix it.

It's normal though Dana.

No offence man, but you should have known that, especially after trolling this site for 5k posts and obviously owning a honda for a LONG time and probly being around them

I honestly LOL'd when I read the post and called my bro over to get a laugh aswell.

The noise is normal, youre sucking in alot of air.

Ask at the local meet spot to make sure though, tell everyone your problem lol

LOL @ beansandrice.. nice dude..

But honestly... Its normal... My S2 mani makes a nice hiss sound too..
Then I hit the throttle and it almost WHistles through the filter. Dont worry about it man.
Like someone mentioned above. unless the sound is from between the head and mani, mani/throttle body or throttle body and piping.. dont worry about it..
