Anyone lower tire PSI at the track?
I have seen quite a few people do this at the track, im assuming to give more traction.. I have never personally tried it, and im wondering if it even works... I have a few set of extra tires im going to experiment at the track with to see..
If anyone here DOES use this method, what psi are you running?

Usually, people increase their tire pressure at the track, to provide better grip during cornering while minimizing the accumulation of heat in the turns. But they decrease their tire pressure at the dragstrip to increase the size of the contact patch (the area where the tire is in contact with the pavement).
If you're interested in asking what pressure to use at the dragstrip, you might want to ask in this site's Drag Racing Forum, which has a lot of dragstrip expertise.

thats what i figured, but i mean, HOW much do they drop it? lol.. wouldnt it slow you down at higher speeds if it was too low?
like, if i had it at 35 psi, would 30 psi make a difference in grip?

Drag racing is totaly different. and there are pressures as low as 10 in drag radials. but i'm not too familar with this stuff. go check the drag fourm.
