hey guys Im helping my buddy with his gsr rebuild, but he has a jdm type r motor on boost, anyway... he is mixed up with the tranny, he is not for sure if it is a GSR or a civic r or teggy type r, well the problem is with the final drive and a kaaz lsd, the final drive is bad in the tranny now so he got another final drive from a gsr "he thinks" but the hole is to small to go on...
basically how can he tell what tranny he has?

and if he has a type r tranny and needs another type r final drive where is the best place to get one?

count the teeth on the ring gear on the lsd and divide them by the teeth on the input shaft that the ring gear meshes with. you will have your final drive. that should help figuring out the trans.

is there any marks/stamps on the trans? i'm assuming there is no vin on the trans. if there is just run a carfax.
