seats
First you take your kind girlfriend by the hand, grab car keys, go to shop that carries seats.
Sit in every seat like Spencer says. There are too many types to suggest just one.
See how she reacts to the prices...follow the legend below.
Scowl= she aint got that much money to spend on you.
Shoulder shrug= she isnt sure how much to spend on you. But probably wont buy it for you.
Smile=you found out what she is going to spend on you.
After you get the smile you know what price range she is willing to spend.
Start chosing a seat in that price range.
When you have made your choice and she pays for it, make sure you thank her many times on the way home.
Its that simple.
Keep in mind this will probably be the only big ticket item she will ever buy for you.
Dont try and tap the same well on your birthday.
good luck!

Ur killing me Smalls.....Its not like you live in the boonies.
If you have to travel some to sit in some seats then go and travel.
Theres no snow, no hurricanes no alligators on the roads.
Better to like what your girlfriend is buying you than to be disappointed you bought something that she knows you dont like once you have it.
Thats a sure way to never get race parts never bought for you ever again.
Besides a seat.. like a helmet is an investment in your comfort and safety.
Somehow i find it hard to believe there are no motorsports shops in Florida that carry seats.
Wine Country Motorsports is in Jupiter.
Call and find out what they have on hand to sit in.
We have one here in California and they always have seats on hand to try out.
It might be a drive for you but its worth you being happy.

Note to all: 30 minutes does not qualify as "too far to drive" to sit in a seat. Really. 1 1/2 hours does not qualify either. I can think of maybe like 4 people on this board that might legitimately be too busy to do that, and they still did it. This is pretty goddamn important, and your body will thank you for the effort (and curse you if you're lazy about it).
Don't know where a shop is? That's what Google and the phonebook are for.

Amen Adam!
Go... drive... see more than your own city.
Get yourself some nice hardware, and be happy you made the right choice to go and sit in some buckets.
I live in Northern California and I will go to a shop in So Cal if its the only place to get what I want.
Im not afraid to drive 6 hours to get the right suff.
Besides I love LA and Orange County!

I had to drive 1 1/2 hours just a couple of days ago to sit in the seat they wanted to put in my track car. Things are getting very complicated.
yea, i got snow, rwd daily with crap tires and i'll still drive 2 hours to go sit in some seats, buy brake fluid or pads, ect. granted, i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but still.
george, you gonna race that thing or what

Removing side windows, putting NASCAR bars in the driver door, lowered seat position, some kind of adjusting mechanism, and probably a new harness bar for the lower seat.
Fire system, kill switch.
The seat is kind of cheap, a Sparco something or other. ADV? It's a halo, but fiberglass.
Racetech would've probably been the first choice, but in the past two years they've jumped from $1100 to $1500+. That's just a little too much, I think.
I'm not a racer or any kind of champion.
Although at my age it is difficult to argue intelligently against "seasoned."
:-)
Some people think that driving in Group 3 (California 4) and Group 4 (California 5/Instructor) is like racing, but I don't think it really is. Although you'll be next to and passing people in corners all the time, there's no mission to not let somebody pass, and there isn't the kind of pressure that causes you to rub a car to see if the driver is really serious about his manoeuvre.
I can't imagine myself racing, but it's possible the car would see races at some point.

Be careful of the locals at Summit Point! "The Line" depends on what they have to do, and the locals know a line for just about everything.
It's amazing.
