i replaced the clutch cuz i thought it was worn but it had like 40% left, and when i took that out, i found a p plate bolt snapped off in the flywheel. so i replaced the flywheel and p plate. does anyone know
yeah cuz its my daily, i take it to skool which is like 45 mins away at like 11pm in the boondocks of ct, i dont wanna get stuck with it. as for asking a tech, i havent gotten around to that yet. and its 96 so it a 5th gen coupe
Similar problem happened to a customer. Go check on that pedal freeplay again, I have a good feeling your clutch isnt disengaging all the way when you should be in neutral so its hot spotting and slips until it cools down.
funny thing is i bled the clutch a few times and itll feel fine however to get the full contact of the clutch and flywheen i adjusted the pedal freeplay so the connection would be shorter
re-check this
as the fluid warms up it expands and slow starts to release the clutch
my friend's nissan had the exact same prob when hot
did the adjustment (properly) and it was fine since
Had the same thing on a friend's d16z6, and it happened to be the rear main seal blowing oil all over the pressure plate and causing it to slip, mostly pronounced upon warm-up after driving increased pressure to where it coated the clutch and caused it to slip.
