h22 sleeve liners/open or closed deck question
anyone know where i can find a decently priced replacement sleeve liner for an h22(either darton or golden eagle)...do they make these for closed deck or open deck blocks and which block is better for sleeving or in general for open or closed decks? does either one have an advantage over the other? i am planning on doing a mild all motor build with 11.5:1 pistons and wanna go forged with sleeves....thanks
google search there are so many stores that sell replacement liners for the h series block but you know mahle make 11.5 forged piston that frm compatible right?
As far as the open deck vs closed deck that topic has been cover here before just used the search button.

ya i know that mahle makes the compatible piston for the frm stock sleeve but theres a certain way to hone them and i dont wanna take the risk of them getting messed up, as for searching about the open vs closed deck here i have but havent found much about it but im sure its out there somewhere...if someone can point me in the right direction because the search button dosent work very well. thanks
And i'm having this issue to..
See I have a JDMh22a i'm working on, and i'm swapping the pistons out for the High Compression Mahle Gold Series Pistons..HOWEVER..I know that..
1) You have to buy certain honing stones for the FRM Walls and I hear their not cheap, and honing it with normal stones could result intaking to much off (But even if it's a quick in and out?)
2) That they generally say, if the walls don't catch ur nail..leave it alone.
Now i'm COOL with the second option but my natural instincts tell me to hone!!! But at the same time how expensive are these honing stones?! I wanna do this quickly and get it back to the customer but first and foremost I wanna do it RIGHT and ensure quality..
