rolling over 40,000 - what's needed?
I have a 99 Prelude that's getting ready to roll over 40,000 miles. It has had all needed service at the required intervals. I'm doing all my own work now. What should I do for a car that's getting up in mileage?
This time is just the standard 5000 mile service interval. You will do a major at 45k. Your really big one is at 60k. I'm doing the 30k shortly on my 99 Base and it includes, in my case, a complete service on the tranny (SS), flush all fluids, adjust the valves, ignition as needed, and a host of incidentals. Don't forget to check the CV boots very carefully and be sure the retainers are on tight (takes a tool I'm told). I will also have the alignment done (Camber kits are on) as our roads are not kind at times. The Owners Manual covers most everything you should do.
