looking at buying 1997 crv with 275,000 kms... worth it?
Hi there,
I'm looking at buying a 1997 crv, really nice shape from the pics. it's got 275,000kms on it. They are asking $4200. I am going to look at it tomorrow and I'll ask about the timing belt and if it's changed and if it leaks oil. Have you guys seen these engines go a long ways??? It's a second vehicle so I'm looking for something cheap naturally. I imagine if I take care of it, it'll go for a long time yet. Just looking for some others who share my view
Thanks,
Rick

I have a 2000 with 212,XXX miles on it. When I had my little accident last march, the book value was around $4000.
I would try to get it down to about $3500

I just bought a 98 with 270,000 kms not that long ago. Body is in good shape, paint is a little faded, but mechanically its been well taken care of and had new snow tires. The motor is just as strong as any 1st gen with low mileage that i've ever driven. i paid $3000, but from looking around i got a pretty good deal, so if you can get one from $3000-4000 i'd say its a good deal.
have a 2000 with over 220k running strong, Dependable. Priate party value on mine is around 5000. Check the one you want on KBB.com
