Post carbon fiber hood

Hey guys I have a 01 S2 and its been in storage for awhile well I just got it out and my carbon fiber hood is really dull now.. It was glossy before I stored it and I have tried washing and waxing it but nothing has helped to bring it back to a glossy shine any suggestions??

try a little compound on it... start with a fine grit and see if that does anything... if that doesnt work, just get it resprayed... pics would help...

I tried everything to get mine to clean up but nothing would work. Resprayed and did the compound cleaner, boat wax, sex wax....i did it all, nothing helped. Might have to buy a new hood man.

just reclear it. sand it and scuff it with gray scotch brite and then respray it with clear. I have bought hoods like that for tens of dollars and turned around and made a couple hundo. Any old joe can do it

Have you tryed cutting(sanding) with 1000-1500 and buffing? If that doesn't work, re-clear is the only other option..

Show us a pic. That way we can see if it is the gel-coat/clear-coat peeling. If it is peeling, then you may need a new hood. If that is the case, then get a hold of "bloody lip", he can get you one for a reasonable price. Nice parts too.
