I have a 2nd gear grind at all rpms...i can get it in at a complete stop and the gear feels fine. Ive swapped the synchros and when i had the tranny open everything looked pretty normal to me. (but this is the only transmission ive ever had my hands on). I was thinking shift fork but i can get into all the other gears fine...so im guessing swaping out the gears and the little hub is my last option. Anything else that can cause just 2nd gear?
Ill try and get some pics up.

Also 2nd gear had some play in it on the countershaft is that right?...looking at how the synchro fits in the hub it seems like its supposed to move like alittle.

^those are all the pictures i have....i had it down one weekend but needed it back together for school and i thought replacing the synchros and the change holder might solve the problem.
So now im just trying to make sure that i have what ill need to replace in order to make it another weekend job. Whats most likely to be worn?
Oh...but the rotational movement of the gear when the shaft is assembled is ok?

Thanks for all your help guys...i have the tranny open again and im pretty certain the slider was to blame.
2nd gear side of slider

These looked fine to me

the hub also looked perfect...all the other gears have been shifting great so i have more confidence putting it back together this time. I should have spent more time when i had it opened up before but lesson learned.
