Hey whats up, I bought an 06 k20z3 a while ago, then, I found a cheap rsx shell. My question is, what would I have to do to shift properly. I heard I can get a ep3 shift arm lever, but I want to hear more responses. Thanks for your help.

 

Do you have the ECU for the z3? You will need that because the RSX was cable throttle and the z3 is DBW.

 

No. I heard I cant use it, that I would need the 02-04 rsx harness and throttle cable with the adapter for the manifold

correct me if I am wrong but the intake manifold bolt holes are the same from a K20Z3 to a K20A2. There for use the motor with K20A2 with swap parts/ecu and hondata... Although none of this is relevant to what you asked. But with that being said can't you use a K20A2 transmission?!

 

all you need is the throttle body, and cable, and rsx ecu and harness.

 

thats pretty much what i was thinking, all RSX stuff for the swap, and the K20Z3 engine...

 

I heard you need a speed converter box because the tranny on the z3 is switched around, if i were to put it in how it is, I would have to shift backwards. (Ex: 1st would be 2nd) but I also heard I would need custom tranny cable brackets, I'm not sure what I really need anymore. They have also told me that I could use an ep3 shift arm lever.

 

you need 02-04 engine and charge harness, 02-04 throttle body and cable, 02-04 ecu and your gonna need the speed convertor for the z3 trans. that should be it

 

I got the 02-04 shifter assembly and cables. Would they bolt right in with the z3 tranny? also, what converter do I need and where can I find it? thanks

 

i dont think you need a converter for anything... go to K20A.org and research it there and ask for help.. there's plenty of people there that have used the Z3 trans.. and if you have the full Z3 swap the only things u need is a rsx ecu, TB and cable , and the adapter to use a rsx TB on a z3 RBC intake manifold.. the stock Z3 mani is a popular swap for RSX guys as it gains more power than the stock rsx mani... the only thing ive seen with the z3 tranny is that you have to change the speed sensor and drill and tap the mounting hole on the Z3 so u can secure it like it is on the rsx trans... i suggest u go to that site and read around and ask them they know far more than anyone on this site..
