ok, so last night i wired up my electronic VSS directly to the ECU, used pin A2 as a ground and A13 as a 12v power supply, then ran the VSS wire to B16 (as directed by Rywire). the car ran perfect all last night and most of today. was hitting vtec and everything. not throwing any codes. i go to autozone to get a new cap, rotor, and plugs. come out and my car wont start. the brake warning light is on, and the oil warning light, battery light, and check engine light are VERY DIM when the key is in the ON position. the LED light on top of the ECU stays on instead of flashing. BUT when i hold the trans in gear (only 2nd or 4th) all the lights turn on and the light on the ECU turns off like it should (but i really have to pull on the shifter hard for that to happen). i checked the main relay, its fine, checked the ignition switch, thats fine. i know its not the ECU. i checked my grounds, theyre all tight (unless theres one i dont know about) meaning, thermostat housing, negative for battery, valve cover.
what is going on?

 

ok, now i have another problem. i took the ecu out to see if the car would at least turn over. with the ecu unplugged, the ignition came on as it should. but as soon as i turned the key to start it, the started engaged but then i had no power at all. as if the battery was unplugged. then i let it sit for a bit, came back, plugged the ecu back in, and turned the key and everything came on as it should. then tried to start it but then everything shut off again. then i tried to push start the car and for some reason my trans is locked up. it was like hitting a brick wall when i released the clutch.

 

well, your car WILL NOT START WITH OUT THE ECU. so if you have a spare ecu swap it out and see if the problem persist.

 

did your speed sensor break? trans is locked up? it wont shift in any gear?

 

it shifts through the gears... just when i try to push start it it just stops. im going to look at it some more tomorrow.
