93 5spd accord, acceleration knocking/vibration/shaking
my 93 5spd Accord.
during a quick lube at my buddies shop, he pointed out the accumulated, dried-up slung grease on the tranny case from the inner boot, on the passengers side, yet none of the boots were cracked. He advised me and told me that it would go out in time, just watch it.
I kept driving it with no problems, no sounds, etc.
I took a 600 mile round trip with it, and the last 20 miles, freeway speeds, I started getting a nasty clicking noise while going up hill and accelerating.
I hadn't had to drive it, so I had it sitting for about 3 weeks. my buddies shop was too busy to change the supposed problem, the half shaft, for that's where the noise was coming from. So, I figured that it wouldn't be a problem, so I took it 120 miles once again. while the car was cold, it made no noise, but as I got on the freeway, 2 miles from my home, it began. by the time I got into vegas that morning, it was making the worst knocking noise and vibrating every bit of my car.
I got home, thinking that the half shaft was totally shot, replaced it, but I'm still having the same problems. total misdiagnosed.
Now, it's only on the acceleration when the car is warm and gets worse as it gets hot, normal operating temperature. I wonder if it's not the motor mount.
It's quiet for the first few miles when cold, but then it creeps up into a violent shake, vibration and woble when hot.
So, if it's one of my motor mounts, can I visually check to see if it's torn?
Or what else could it be?
