Ok so i recently purchased a 93 prelude and when i turn on the headlights the gas and temp gauges turn off and when i turn the headlights off the gauges turn back on...has anyone had this similar problem lmk thanks...

 

most likely it is not they are going off but that they r going dim when your headlights r on you can control whether its brite or very dim. and when u have ur headlights off that does not apply. so what i will ask of you is to turn your headlights on look to the left side of your steering wheel there should 3 switches one of wich adjusts the brightness on those gauges

So you mean when u turn on the headlight the dash light go dimmer?..if that the case it normal.. the reason that happen is so that you can see the dash clearer during the night.
