3 broken teeth on the countershaft FD gear, what could cause it to break??

Default 3 broken teeth on the countershaft FD gear, what could cause it to break??

like topic says, the teeths on the countershaft final drive gear broke off about 3 teeths! don't know how it happened!! made a rubbing kind of noise and i decided to open up the trans and saw that the Countershaft FD gear teeth broke off....... what would cause it to break?

Any pieces of metal that decided to make their way between them, or they just finally gave up and broke.

tire hop will shatter final drive and ring gear teeth, at least thats been what i've seen. I'm not a tranny expert.
