Default D16A1 swap

Got a hold of a complete d16a1 swap pretty much for free! And it's running fine. All its missing is the ecu and wiring harness. I have an si tranny that I know should work perfectly fine with it, but please correct me if I'm wrong. I've heard these swaps are useless in CRX/EF's but I dont want to let it go to waste! Can someone please help me and let me know what i need to do to get this running in my 90 CRX HF? I've always wanted a ZC and this is the closest I'm ever gonna get haha

a quick search on google revealed this:

http://www.d-series.org/forums/gener...-question.html

which had links to these two sites:

http://www.quickhonda.net/zc2000.htm

edit: there's this too

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/d16a1-swap-into-my-civic-2333286/

just google "d16a1 in ef" and you'll find hella stuff

also, the si tranny wont bolt up.. you need a d16a1 one. also, if your d16a1 is a vacuum advance one from an 86-87, you will need to get a head/dizzy/crank sensor from an 88-89 one

people here are so full of useless information....

yes i is possible to install a d16a1 into a ef chassis. there is a trans issue bolting to the actual motor. 2 bolts will not go in no matter what. 1 being an actual trans bolt. and the other being a starter bolt. also, there will have to be a slight grinding of the motors bellhousing area to give he starter room to turn over and spin. if your using a ef transmission you will not have issue bolting the trans into the car, the motor mount will be the big problem.

i know this because of this right now in my garage.

89 dx 5 speed trans. 89 d16a1 engine. little modification.

i meant, that it was not just a bolt in affair.. needs some work. plus i dont recommend using anything with missing bolts, but you can if you want.
