My car runs! and drives!
For anyone who actually read my posts...youll know I did a d16a6 head swapped I had the head milled and slightly ported.....and then I converted my dpfi to mpfi.....Well a week ago I finished this project which took me about 2 days.....( I had to work about 12 hours in between those two days) I started the car but I was burning oil outta the block and burning coolant....

to make a long story short...I finished everything tonight....and it runs good.....im still burning a lil coolant only under open throttle...so I think I need to have a pro torque my head down perfectly cause my torque wrench sux

well I have the standard dial indicator needle wrench...you put it on the bolt and tighten it to the specific foot pound......then I usually hold it there....I go in sequence and went 22 and 47 respecitavely.....
any technique I should know about?

Are you sure you're still burning coolant and not just getting smoke from coolant pooled in the exhaust from the previous leak?
When my intake manifold was sucking coolant into #1 cylinder it took about a week to get the coolant all burned out of the exhaust.

i've always heard bad things about accuracy of the needle type wrenches, but dont quote me on that. also, are you using new head bolts? (your old ones may be streched?)
it actually feels alot quicker....Ive only taken it to redline once....my valves are really loud.....right now..and are in desperate need of an adjustment....
The intake sound with the new mpfi and SI head and my aem cai is enormous...it whistles like crazy and You can really hear it suck.......

How much are you talking though burning wise?? I get a descent trail when you drive the car.....otherwise its okay at idle wehre it used to just burn out pool out constantly??
Is it safe to drive my car a couple days with it burning a lil coolant.....then come to find out it was actually the headgasket needing to be tightened down??
jdmb18hatch you have a nice torque wrench like my school's...im going to home depot to morrow and buying one of those too where yous et the ft/pnds and then it clicks when you get there....cuase mine sux ***....

Im using new honda headbolts......stock headgasket OEM but the 78 dollar one...that is thicker then hell...(evens out since I had my head milled)
and I even have some honda bond sealer....around my head and the valve cover gasket....
