I tried searching. Gave up. Is there a write up on a clock spring install on here? I put in a used one months ago then it went bad. I wasn't sure if it was just junk or i was an idiot and put it in wrong. I bought annother one I want to make sure i'm installing it right before I put it in.

 

just count it from side to side, go real slow and spin it untill you feel some resistance, once you feel the slight resistance then stop and spin in the opposite diriection and count how many turns untill you feel slight resistance, once you feel the resistance and you have counted then just split that in half and that is your center, I have used this method for about 10 years at my shop and it has never failed me. also if you do not ever feel any resistance than the ribbon inside is broken from someone spinning it to much and breaking the ribbon

x2 i'v done this aswell but only for used clock springs. since new ones come with a break-off tab thats already centered.
