hey fellas. just finished a h22 swap in an eg hatch from leftover stuff i had alying around.

anyway, heres prob.... starter wont spin...tried 2 diff starters

the hatch just recently got:
wire tuck (first one)
brake tuck
bay shave, relocated battery to hatch

i have 8 guage wire ran from the battery to the front of the car, and a decent ground in the hatch area (think its ok)
10 guage ground from trans and engine..

the starter will spin when i ground it with a screwdriver but it wont spin the motor just itself.

i have checked most of my connections with the tuck but im beggining to think its the signal wires for the starter (the 2 black ones on drivers side body harness that connects to engine harness, one black yellow stripe, one black white stripe)

ran out of daylight. anyone ever had problems with these when doing a tuck?

also the car doesent have cruise but the cruise light flashes when i turn the key over.....lol plz help

another thing... i have one body harnes plug still hanging out tha firewall where the passenger side connects to the engine harness....its a female six prong connector.... this harness was pulled off a running h swap car....wtf is up w that?

 

starter relay

it should be next to the main relay

do the extra plug have a black/white wire (12-10 guage in size) ?

if so thats your starter wire and that would be your problem

btw what kind of car is this?

 

thanks for the help bro. i will check the relay today. ive seen the main relay go bad but i had no idea there was a starter relay.

yeah those two wires were extended using 10 guage

its a 93 vx hatch

 

well went to check this relay and didnt find one. theres just the main relay and underdash fusebox....but....... i got the starter to spin the engine. theres a green four prong female connector that hangs by the fusebox.... i dont know what it plugs into... the only way i got it to spin was puting a wire into the pins between the two black wires with white stripes.

what goes to that plug?? ive had eveything out of this car and putting it back in i cannot remmber what it came out of.

any help???
