Bouncing Tach needle
I have a 90 civic si with 120,000 miles, and there seems to be a problem with the tach needle. When the car first starts, the car heitates alot, and the tach needle bounces around like crazy. The dealership has looked at it, but they came up with nothing. Once the car is warm, it settles down a bit, but at 3500 and up, it still bounces, and there it feels like a misfire when I push the revs to 4500 plus. If anyone has experienced this, or has an idea or two, let me know. The car is perfect other than that, and I love driving it. Thanks.
distributor ~ eventually it will go out ~ you could probly just replace the igniter and get a little more use out of it but its better just to replace the whole distributor assembly now .. about 170 from kragen after core.
thanks for the help.. I had the Ignitor replaced about 6K miles ago, but maybe it was a bad ignitor. I'll check the ground, and once again, thanks.
yeap, igniter, same **** happened to my b16a1 (no replacement distributror available) luckily it turned out to be thhe igniters ground so both the unit and distributor were fine. Check that a few times before you spend $$$, especially since you say you changed it 6k ago.
