Default strapped my car on the dyno today.....

**sorry for such a big picture**
so me and my friends decided to put my crx on the dyno today just to see what it puts down..i have had this setup for over a year now just never decided to get it runing right till now..
my setup:
d16z6, intake, header, exhaust, vafc for vtec activation stock crx si ecu

i finally set my timing to 18degree's wich i have been told is stock, before i had it at 12 or 10degree's wich made the car run like *** and i was always too lazy to set it until today so here is my top 3 runs...

not even close to what i expected very very surprised...
let me know what you guys think...

I think you should get that damn thing off the dyno and let the real beast up there. I got the MSD on. I am still having hesitation issues though so I can't tell if it's doing anything or not. Where did you have yours mounted? I have mine up under my turbo filter right now (On the battery tray is where I mounted it), and the coil back on the firewall. I was told that it doesn't work well w/ the heat of the engine bay though and that I should wire it somewhere inside the cabin (glovebox, under dash). WDYT?

U got a timing light BTW? I'm too poo and laze to buy 1.

Looks good BTW

not really
WHP its after a 15-20% drivetrain loss....
asctually a A6 will put about 92 whp...... and for that Z6 putting 123 whp its doing about 140 Crank HP..... not bad for just a few bolt ons!

No, I disagree. A stock D16A6 will put down just over 100 WHP. This is Shawn Church's dyno from back in '99 when he got a bone stock CRX Si. I cannot remember if it was 88-89 or 90-91. The plot shows totally stock, and then totally stock + a JR SC bolted on.

well i understand what u mean and that Si manged to get 101 whp.......but u know the drivetrain makes u looses about 15-20% loss...... and we all know that....
then the factor of how much u losse comes on waht lubricants u use, temp or car and enviorment, since its strapped in a dyno the friction between tire and floor its not the same, the altitude at wich the dyno its at.temperature of air sucked in.....what kinda gasoline he uses... yada yada yada......... mathematically a 108 hp engine will loose about 15 hp so we talking about 93 whp (average).... a car can make more or less depending on the CONDITIONS in wich he is performing.... maybe he did a 101, but not all Si's are going to give those numbers.... for example.... my friend has a 91 Si ,just intake , headers and exhaust, and that **** is fast as hell...... he beats SOHC VTEC like a ****...... nuttin special done...... its a quick SOHC...... like a said, not all cars are the same, and not all behave the same....

I definately don't disagree that there are losses in the drivetrain, I was just pointing out that a totally stock D16A6 in a proper state of tune at sea level will make over 100WHP. I was partly responding to slowmanEF's question "idk. i ve heard talk on here that the d16a6 put out 100+WHP stock. anyone verify this?"
but directed my response toward you to show that they do make 100WHP. I believe that the figures that have been out there for 10 years (103/108HP D16A6's depending on the year) are WHP figures, since crank HP figures don't mean much in the real world.

Yes, Honda underrated the D16A6 motor. In reality, they put out more like 115hp at the crank.

One of the few motors Honda has actually underrated.

Also with high mileage cars, the carbon will build up on the pistons and can raise the compression up(little bit) giving you a little more hp.
