i have a 15 second 83 prelude and am finding that i can only get my left wheel to spin...

this was with 16's with 45 series tyres.

i have got some 13's with 65 series tyres which i am going to try next meet - i will run them at about 15-20psi?

how can i get both tyres to spin without LSD?

Um, a passenger in my car causes both tires to spin while power braking, but if im only the car it will just sit their and spin the hell out of the right tire.

 

what is power braking? using the e-brake?

why does my left tyre spin? and your right?!?

i have no lsd...but mine always spin at the same time..maybe its because i don't ahve ac or ps weighing down my drivers side

 

Is that why people turn the wheel while heating tires, to keep both spinnig or to get both spinning?

 

thats what i am hearing...

in Australia - 95% of the cars we see are RWD V8s or RWD rotors or AWD twin turbos, so i havent really seen any FWD dragers warming their tyres up.

yeap...

when your in the burnout box, stay in the water area, pull e brake, start the burnout then turn the steering wheel from side to side and keep moving it back and forth to get BOTH tires broken loose and spinning, then let off the e brake and rollout

 

It keeps both spinning. It would seem the reason would be that the force would be shifting from left tire to right as you turn the wheel. Keeps them both going so they're evenly sticky.

 

both wheels will not spin unless you have lsd
the only way you can help it is if while your doing your 3 second warmup burnout turn the wheel left and right
that will insure no matter what wheel spins its warm/clean.

 

I called JDM Parts and they said they no longer carry the shim anymore. He said know one was asking about it. He also said it's similiar to a Phantom Grip!

 

stagger the tire pressures. Put more air in the tire that normally grips.

 

Never used one but I consistantly hear Bad Things about them.

 

My car (90 Crx Si wit hZC Turbo) will spin both tires on dry pavement but when I am in the burnout box it spins passenger tire only. A friend of mine suggested that I try slightly applying the front brakes to even out the power....any comments on this? He is a domestic head so maybe that works on rwd not fwd

 

applying the front brakes is only going to slow down your front tires not make them grip better

 

Actually it is recomended that while doing any sort of burn-out to NOT burn out the wheel bearing, or load up one wheel that you slightlly turn your wheels back and forth, this causes the (stock) diff to transfer the load to the side it is being turned to (opposite of a LSD) and it should get them both to spin, other than that, make more power and then get an LSD!!! But yah I made enough power (without a turbo) to blow my stock diff, so when you DO start making more power please upgrade your diff. to a LSD, it will only save you a lot of headache. Hope this helps.


Oh yah, hope this works, but go to this link and see this movie when he starts the left wheel won't spin; however, he turns to the left and then that wheel starts to spin, that is what experienced fwd drag peoples do... sir can you solve my problem b16b LSD tranny. my problem is if i spin the wheel the other wheel wont spin. i search everthing. cant find something wish you can help me. and there's a crapping sound down my pedals everytime my car lunch. thanks in advance!
