Well I just got the skunk2 76 mm mega power exhaust and its very loud to the point where I am gonna get pulled over .I am running a test pipe so I know that does not help but am gonna keep the test pipe .I was thinking of getting the vibrant pt # 1147 stealth muffler to quiet it down but am not sure its gonna make a big difference . Any help or suggestions are welcome .I don't need it super quiet just no quite so obnoxious as it currently is I cant believe its this loud.Makes me feel guilty coming home at midnight (poor neighbors)even trying to sneak in my roommate said he heard me from all the way up the road . I drive in town a lot and don't the want unneeded attention as I already get enough of that just driving a civic gets the law looking at us.

 

are you all motor or turbo? do you even need a 3 inch exhaust? start by getting a catalytic converter and maybe a resonator if it doesn't already have one. if you have anything les than a fully built b-series or any k-series then maybe you should be running a smaller diameter exhaust.

 

Its a supercharged gsr running 11 lbs of boost .I am not gonna put a cat on it and it has a resonator .Superchargers do not like exhaust restriction and they require being able to get the air in and the air out as quickly as possible therefore I went with the 3 " sure a 2.5 would likely have been adequate but I went ahead and got the 3" as it will certainly not hurt .Besides my question is not what size exhaust should I buy my question is whats gonna work to quiet it down so any input on what works best for that as far as Mufflers ect.. go would be appreciated .I would really like to hear from somebody who has one of vibrants stealth style mufflers and get their input on how loud they are

 

I installed a 3" 5Zigen with test pipe, on my nitrous injected 94LS, it was way too loud, installed a resonator in place of the cat., that was better but still too loud, so I installed a second one, they had little or no effect on performance that I noticed and as long as I kept the RPM down the noise level is way below the legal limit and at full throttle and spraying it's still below the track limit. 94
