Default Low Engine Temp.

Ok guys, just seeing if any of you have any tricks regarding this issue. I've had plenty of honda's, and they all seem to run too cool in the winter, my current EG is doing the same.

When it's THIS cold (below 20°), I can't get the temp up unless drive on the highway for a while, when you come to a stop or in traffic, it starts to drop. I partially blocked the radiator, and that helps a little, but still it's just COLD blooded.

I put a head gasket on last year, and a new Honda t-stat, but still cold. Any tricks from you guys in cold weather areas?

I think theres a good chance you thermostat is malfunctioning. I've driven my car in temperatures below 20 and not had this problem. Im not in a typically cold area either but it has reached single digits here and my hondas/acuras did just fine. You could probably order a higher temperature thermostat from your parts store or throught honda.
