My mind is made up!!! H22 in my EF will come soon!!!
OK guys, I made my decision and based on the poll I made yesterday and the fact that I have the motor already I have decided to put an H22 in my Civic HB. Here are a couple of pics of the motor before I start to clean and rebuild it. A full write up and progress pictures/threads will be posted as soon as work is done.
allright man go for it! i just moved to va from daytona,fl two days ago.the valve cover looks good natural.dont paint it,thats my opinon.lat us know how it turns out.
Thanks guys. The only thing I need to know is if HASport is gonna have their mounts out soon or if I have to get those damn Place Racing ones.

It's about damn time you made up your mind!!! J/K Looks like a big project that I wouldn't even come close to understanding!!!
Good Luck though!!!
Good Luck though!!!
i still doesnt fit with the mounts ~ be prepared to cut and weld and be prepared to spend many hours wiring .. Good luck !! you might have to get a dual core radiator to keep it cool.
Plans for the motor are:
Type S pistons and rings
Type S cams and Skunk 2 retainers and springs
mild port and polish with 5 angle valve job
Mugen Head Gasket
Hondata Intake Manifold spacer
Header, intake, 2.5 inch exhaust
possibly, electric water pump conversion.

A turbo would fit, but I'm not going that route.
After the pistons and Head gasket the CR will be about 11.5:1 so that is way to much for a turbo motor. If I don't sell the nitrous kit that I have for it, then the juice will be on it too. I'm figuring about 165-175 whp once it's all done, maybe more maybe less. Do you guys think that is a good estimate of wheel horsepower?

Well guys, I've been working a little bit today and I have been polishing and cleaning up the motor. Let me know what you think!
SO SHINY!!!!!!
This piece will be getting polished after I am done with the motor.

HAHA!! I'm just trying to get the motor cleaned up a little now. I will be tearing it down soon and taking it to the machine shop to get the type S pistons installed and the head P&Pd then slap it all back together with a nice Mugen headgasket. I'll finish it up with a phenolic intake spacer from Hondata and a 4-2-1 header and I'll throw that bish in the car and stomp some Camaros and Stangs(along with dozens of riced out mothabishes)!!
You might want to simple green some of the dirt off first, but other than that, good job and good planning. You will have a kick *** engine. Make SURE to break the engine in, I would say at LEAST 1,500 K miles!!!
BTW, the jdmhonda.net motor mounts are HAsport, nice mounts, sorry I haven't gotten a hold of Rob Jamison, (88crxoncrack) I believe he is out of town. I will let you know a.s.a.p.

I called HASport today and they said they aren't even working on making mounts for the H22 into a 4g civic. Let me know what you find out with that. Also, I am going to need the Place Racing axles and shifter adapter, etc. Let me know the prices on that stuff, thanks.
Remember, I will not be autocrossing so corners don't matter too much, plus, don't knock it unless you try it, you never know how well it might handle with a few suspension mods.

There is a guy in Tampa with a White CRX with an H22.
I have seen him several times at the Orlando Speed World Drag strip.
It's a very tight fit, but nothing impossible.
He converted to hydro clutch.
Not as hard as you might think, I did the hydro convertion on a CRX a while back.

LOL........if its not who i'm thinking, he actually live in Sarasota. He has two H22 hybrids. One is a '88 White HF converted to OBD-2 (didn't like the idea push starting, you know, immoblizer)now running OBD-1. All home made custom mounts. His best to date was i believe 12.8, can't remember it was so long ago.The swap was done like almost 2 years ago. Has one several Orlando Drag events (in bracket)in both of his H22 swaps (11' sec daily-driven '92 Civic CX, Vortech-supercharged, custom-Vortech gave him one to sponser him, he did this swap almost 4 years ago.). He still have it I believe. I know he did several H22 swaps in a couples of 4 doors and coupes.
Anyways Matt, yes, there will be alot of wiring and sleepless hours. Banging the firewall is a plus, obvouisly custom axles with the right knuckle hups, re-line the hydro line (your gonna have to take your whole dashboard if you want it too look right)exhaust, etc.You are gonna need a Honda ETM book (which is the Honda wiring bible book, not the Helms).
Make sure you take your time on this. I remember Daren had like 3 wire expert working on it at the same time.
Anyways, i you have any q's, IM me.

phew that'll be more of a beast than my ej1
