Word on the next type R??
lots of speculation but no real news. They do have the new body Honda Integra Type R (similar but better than our RSX-S) in other countries (Japan and Australia).

The 'Search' button is your friend
Well some places are saying the RSX/Integra Type-R will be coming to north america in late 2003/2004.........
I doubt it tho.....
Considering there is 3 models of Integra's here, I don't see why not?
LS -- base -- RSX
GSR -- sport -- Type-S
Type-R -- race -- Type-R

guys, its already been confirmed, no dc5r for the states.
Can you prove that? I'm not calling you a liar. But I would just like to see some proof

rsx-s with a optional $4000 or so dressing kit is all we are going to see.

the Si would definately need the new motor George. I drove one today, very unimpressed by the "increased torque" of the 2 liter block. disappointed by the car as a whole

...basically what i think needs to be done.
the ctr is unlikely but hasnt been confirmed either way.
but knowing the market, i do not think they would release such a car since the rsx type S would get internal competition.

Why cant honda look at this board like VW looks at the vortex board....1000 RSX-R's brought over and everyone would sell. Forget about the 220 HP to save on emission control changes, give us the tranny, suspension, brakes and CW paint. I know everyone would sell out.
I think I'm liking the CTR a little better, anyway.
Any word on the CTR?
If we're not getting the CTR, either, I swear I'd be tempted to buy a Civic Si and put the 220 HP ITR motor in it.

Nope, its not coming to the States. I got the new Motor Trend a day or two ago and theres a short article about it. You can get a body kit and suspension package from acura but the actual type r is not comin to the USA.
From MotorTrend - October 2002 Pg. 30

R-Type minus 20 hp equals FP
Acura's RSX gets a handling and appearance package
Acura is tenuously joining the BMW M/Mercedes AMG tuner market with a new line of products badged under the Factory Performance name. First up is a handling package for the RSX Type-S that features stiffer "track-tuned" springs and shocks that lower the coupe by about 1 in., 17-in. lightwieght aluminum alloy wheels and 225/45VR17 tires, slotted brake rotors with performance pads and lower body cladding and the requisite boy-racer wing. Inside there's a billet aluminum shift **** and special Factory Performance badging with aluminum look interior trim. This is the home-market Honda Integra's Type-R handling package without the 220-hp engine. Acura says it has no plans to import the Type-R, so if you lust after that car you might consider springing for the $4800-plus dealer installation (estimated at six hours). Hurry: Only 1000 copies will be available the first year.
The package is well worth it, for the most part. Based on a slalom provided by Acura, the RSX Type-S FP has quicker turn-in than the stock setup with the body roll and impending oversteer of the stock RSX Type-S virtually gone. This sucker corners flat; slalom speeds increase substantially. Power is the same 200 hp from the 2.0L i-VTEC four.
FP's focus will be on handling improvements, at least for the time being. In coming years, expect more packages and products for pretty much the full Acura line, including the MDX, and probably a second package for the RSX that will offer suspension and brake mods without the rice-rocket look.
