Hey,

How many times / how many layers of this spray window tint paint should I put on my taillights and my headlights to give them a "smoked" or "tinted" look? I'm looking for Audi TT or Chevy Impala-style tint, not old-Mustang-blackout-headlights-style tint darkness.

I don't see why? Can you show me a picture of a car with lightly tinted heads and tails that is super-ricey and ghey?

My car is a dark green, so it's not going to stand out. Why the hostility? Why? Don't let me do something ghey to my car - show me what it will look like.

spray tint is hard, use tinting paper. 35% should give u a nice gray.

 

those arn't tinted, they are black housing headlights.

 

But the only way to get that "look" on my Teg is to spray tint the headlights and/or taillights and/or corner lights.

Ya, all of teh new cars that look like they are tinted just have black housing headlights. The 97-99 eclipses are like that, and the new impalas, just to name a couple, use the black housing...

BTW, I like the look. Just do a good job

dude. when you put it on, look and see if you like it. why the hell are you asking other people who aren't painting your tails how much to put on when you are the only one that can see them?

 

no need to be sorry....some like em, some don't....I have the OEM red/clears and the 96-98 OEM tails so I can change it up whenever I get sick of the look.

 

I'm asking other people who have done it before how many coats is tasteful. I have never done it before, and i wanted to know what the usual number of coats was - since I was going to paint them, go to bed, and slap them back on tomorrow morning before school -- there'd be no time to darken more until later.

so don't be such a chode.

i did my bumper lens and gave them a black housing look, looks real good since my car is black and i have a comptech ITR front lip. the first few coats u wont notice until after 6 but do it lightly until u get the desired look , then use some glossy clear coat.

and if u dont like what i did then send me $39.99 and i'll buy the ones already smoked.
