New sedan owner soon!
hey guys, i should be buying an ef sedan this weekend. although it is an auto
i will be puttin a new d15 in it and converting it to 5 speed next week if i buy it. i was just wondering how hard the 5 speed conversion is? any input is greatly appreciated.

There is no mechanical problem that can't be over come by brute force and stupidity....
The swap for the most part is easy and direct. Check the FAQ's there are write-ups on it. You will need to cut and drill on the “exhaust” tunnel. Drill on the firewall for the clutch cable. Change the rear transmission mount on the cross-member. Pull out the dash to swap over the pedal set... Also some wiring is required to rig your car to be able to start.
Pretty much unless you want to pour time into it, you are better off leaving it stock.

i have another car i can drive until its done. then it will be my DD since im buildin a high hp 300zx. and i would consider myself mechanically inclined. plus i have a bunch of friends that are very used to workin on ef's.
